If you do the entire card it will still show your internal as 16gb, and the size of your ext_sdcard, but when you click the 3 dot menu, the drop down will give an option to format as portable storage again if it worked. When you go back up under storage after these commands, especially if you do 50/50 or another percentage, that will show you it worked. Just make sure to let the phone format the sdcard first before running the commands or it will do so & restart your phone.Īlso if you go up under storage and see a "greyed out" usb card listing, just click on it and it will give you the option to "forget" it. If I select the 'SD card' line it takes me to the folders that reside on the SD card. If this is selected it shows me what apps are installed, and when they are selected none show any facility for moving. If I select the 'Internal storage' line it takes me to summary's of what resides there including a selection 'Apps'. When I look in Settings\Storage & USB, it shows a line for 'Internal storage' and another under 'Portable storage' for the 'SD card' with an 'Eject' icon listed to the right. There is no facility that I can find anywhere for it. Most of the documentation I found for rooting the Optmius Hub isn't very complete or user-friendly.I too have the above stated predicament of not being able to install or transfer already installed apps to the external SD storage card (64GB) in my new LG Stlyo 2 (Virgin Mobile) running Marshmallow 6.0.1. It does look like rooting your phone could solve your problem, but I would recommend against doing so unless you really feel like you know what you're doing. A lot of recent phones have been shipping with very small internal storage, compared to, say, a 32GB SD card, and once they fill up it there isn't much to do about it. I'm pretty disappointed that they removed the ability to install apps to SD cards. I remember there used to be an option in the Application Settings page to move an app to SD card, but I checked on my phone and it looks like that option was removed a few versions ago. I went digging around in the Google Play settings and I couldn't find an option to set a default place to install apps. I've been looking at a few apps that advertise being able to move apps onto an SD card, but each I've tried requires root. This can be done by long pressing the folder/file name, selecting "move" from the options, and then navigating to the SD card and selecting "paste". that you don't want to delete, but don't want on your internal storage, you can use the file manager to move them. If there is a large group of music, pictures, etc. Once you have that installed you can look in your Downloads, Music, and DCIM (pictures) folders and see if there are any large files that you can delete. I'd recommend getting a file manager from the play store to see what is taking up so much space on your internal storage. The two solutions are to either migrate some of the data (photos, music, downloads, etc.) from your internal storage to your SD card, or move apps from your internal storage to SD card. Hi!
